Wedding : Elise & Jared

Intimate Backyard Wedding Elise and Jared’s non-traditional, intimate backyard wedding was every candid-style wedding photographer’s dream wedding. A small gathering of family and friends witnessed the couple exchange their vows. These were original vows written by the bride and groom themselves, which left the entire crowd with tear-struck faces, including myself. From ugly-crying behind the camera to crying while editing, I couldn’t hold back the emotions brought on by witnessing such a genuine connection between two individuals. The couple’s romantic color selection of blushes and pastels emphasized the intimacy of the ceremony. The light color scheme contrasted beautifully against the dark greenery of their backyard. The elegant-meets-rustic details of her blush-toned lace dress, bright hair, and flower crown perfectly reflected the bride’s unique attention to detail. The photojournalistic, candid shots tell the story of the sentimental, heartfelt moments shared between Elise, Jared, and their friends and family.   To see more of my wedding photography, click here: http://ahnveephotography.com/wedding/

What’s in my bag? Photography Gear & More!

Have you ever wondered what combination of photography gear, beauty products, food/beverages, and music make up the perfect recipe for our unique photos? Today’s your lucky day, my friend! Let’s start with the bag(s): I’ve finally settled in my relationship with bags, and for good reason. These bags are not only stylish, they’re functional, comfortable, and unique. I started with the crossbody, but as my lens collection grew, I found the Isaac Mizrahi camera backpack that fits my DSLR camera, film camera, and five lenses comfortably. It also includes a back compartment that fits a 15″ laptop! Now I use the crossbody for my lighting gear, batteries, accessories, and to hold my personal belongings. Isaac Mizrahi Kathryn Full Size Coated Canvas Camera and Tech Backpack         Crossbody Camera Bag from Shutter Totes           Over the years I’ve accumulated so many items necessary for capturing the perfect images that bags just weren’t cutting it. Last summer I decided to take an ice chest to keep us cool and hydrated on a shoot. The ice chest had wheels, so we stacked my bags on it as we ventured from location to location. Then it hit me: WE […]

Bridals: Danielle

They say good things happen to good people, and this was proven to be accurate when we were shooting Danielle’s bridals at Kisatchie National Forest in Bentley, Louisiana. This outdoorsy animal lover unexpectedly experienced the bridal session of her dreams. It was the day Ahnvee Photography officially met the Butterfly Garden Deer. Maybe he could smell the protein cookie I had in my camera bag, or maybe he just liked the classic rock we were listening to. Whatever the reason, we were pleasantly surprised to witness him slowly make his way towards the beautiful bride. We all instantly turned into pre-teens at a Justin Beiber concert when we saw him. (See video below) O H    D E E R We soon figured out that he favors the taste of babies breath, and Danielle didn’t think twice about destroying her bridal bouquet for the sweet deer. He followed us around like a puppy, and I just snapped away at the unbelievable sight happening right before me. The Butterfly Garden Deer has since graced many visitors with his presence. If you’re in the area, be sure to stop by and show him some love. Krislyn & Craig | In Home Couples Lifestyle Session | A Romantic Sunday Afternoon | Pineville, LA

Krislyn & Craig | An In Home Couples Lifestyle Session | A Romantic Sunday Afternoon | Pineville, LA When Krislyn contacted me, she proposed a challenge that I immediately accepted: she wanted updated photos of her and Craig, but with a unique and playful flair. Within minutes of meeting them, I knew this couple’s relationship was anything but average, and I love finding the beauty in the unordinary. We decided to capture their romance in the most organic way possible. Krislyn and Craig invited me to their home to document a typical Sunday afternoon. Krislyn and Craig enjoy cooking and baking, playing games, and spending time with each other. Sounds typical right? Well not when these two are together. The whole afternoon was spent competing with one another in the sweetest way possible. The day was full of fun and laughter and resulted in quite possibly the best couples session ever. Krislyn & Craig have been married for almost 2 years, but as these lifestyle photos prove, they’ve never lost touch with their high school romance. This is the kind of love you DON’T see in fairytales, and I’m thrilled to have captured that for them.
