Why You Need a Birth Story or Fresh 48 Session

There are very few (if any) things more raw, important, and emotional in life than having a baby. For a lot of moms and parents the first couple of hours and days after delivery can be a blur due to all of the changes, actual labor, and post delivery. By hiring Ahnvee Photography as your birth photographer, you are able to relive the memories over and over again for a lifetime. Live birth sessions cover your entire birthing experience, from active labor, through the first few hours of your new baby’s life in a beautiful and raw documentary style. I capture your journey through labor, your baby’s first breath and first cry, cutting the cord, your first expression when you see them, and everything about that new bundle of joy and each special moment involved. I arrive at the hospital around 5cm of dilation through the first hour after delivery. Includes a minimum of 50 hi-res images and print release.   For pricing and availability please visit www.ahnveephotography.com/contact and complete the form.

Seniors of 2018

I had the pleasure of shooting 27 seniors this past season, and each and every one of them brought something unique to their session.  My goal is always to showcase the personality and talents of each individual client, and this year’s seniors had no shortage of either!  We’ve put together a slideshow of some of the best photos from each senior session this past year.  Our intent with this video is to wish a stylish, personalized congratulations to the grads, as well as shout a big ‘THANK YOU’ to each of you who trusted me with capturing this exciting moment in your life! Just a bit more about each of the talented young men & women showcased in the video above: AINSLEY is a music lover who enjoyed participating in 4-H while in high school.  She plans to attend either ULL or McNeese to study Education, and dreams of someday being an English teacher in Africa. ALAYNA is an avid lover of makeup and shopping.  She plans to attend Louisiana Tech to study Speech Pathology, and dreams of balancing her career as a Speech Therapist with having a family. Professional Labs vs Consumer Labs for Printing

Unless you’re in the photography world, you may not know that there are strong differences in the finished product when choosing where to have your professional images printed.  Not all printing services are created the same, and despite which photographer you choose, each will have their own opinions on where is the best place to have the final images printed.  You will find some similarity between professional opinions, but the one opinion guaranteed across the board with professionals is that consumer photo labs (Walgreens, CVS, Shutterfly, etc) typically produce images that pale in quality comparisons to professional photo labs like WHCC or Miller‘s. As with everything, the proof is often in the contrasts, and we didn’t slack in doing our own homework to see how the more commonly used services measured up against our preferred printer.  Keep in mind that when it comes to art, its creators have a vested interest in the quality you select to display your final images.  We here at Ahnvee Photography care a great deal about the quality of your printed images and therefore, we DO NOT add any additional charges to the existing cost to print from our preferred professional lab, WHCC (White House […]

Commercial Photography vs Portrait Photography

If you’re looking into photography to promote your business or service, you may be surprised to learn that pricing varies from that of a typical portrait session.  Not everyone understands how the processes differ, and as such, we’ve done our best to explain the fine points for those who will someday be requiring this service. What’s the difference between commercial photography and consumer photography? Consumer photos are taken for the client’s personal use, and individual prints are usually ordered from the photographer taking the photos.  Once consumers have purchased the prints of their choice, those prints will generally come with a print release that allows the consumer to print from their desired vendor, but this takes into consideration that the photos are not intended for mass-reproduction. The copyright to any images taken always remains with the photographer.  Essentially, the package price paid includes a license fee that enables the client to use the art that we create for them.  Being in possession of digital files or proofs does not give the client rights to reproduce them.  This is where the main differences between commercial and consumer photography come into play, because commercial images are specifically intended to be reproduced. Commercial […]

Maternity : Kelsey & Chase

A New Bundle of Joy It’s pretty hard not to have a big, cheesy smile when looking at the pictures from Kelsey and Chase’s family lifestyle maternity session. They are expecting a new baby boy, Cian. When Kelsey contacted me to shoot this special moment, I was thrilled. She and Chase are good friends of mine, but let’s face it–who wouldn’t want to take pictures of such a beautiful family? My favorite hidden gem in Central Louisiana was the perfect location. I thoroughly enjoyed capturing this beautiful family’s eagerness for their newest bundle of joy. Parker perfectly reflected his excitement for a new baby brother. Parker’s precious facial expressions and big blue eyes were to die for. He is just so cute! Cian is already loved beyond belief. I can’t wait to meet him!
